How to catch Scrooms
Use the instrument like a rhythm tool: hit the tune, stabilize the waveform and keep the creature inside the zone until the meter completes.

Stage one: hit the tuning window
Watch for the marker and click when it meets the target. The timing window is the first gate; rushing repeated clicks usually costs more progress than waiting for the next clean opening.
Stage two: hold the waveform steady
During the waveform stage, keep the signal inside the catch area with short drags. Avoid sweeping from edge to edge. A stable center position gives you time to read the next change.
Stage three: follow the moving zone
The final bar asks you to keep the cursor aligned with a moving catch zone. Move with it, then release pressure when the zone changes direction. Continue until the progress meter fills.
Why catches fail
- Large cursor movements push the waveform outside its target.
- Repeated clicks during a cooldown waste the next timing window.
- Quest turn-ins are separate from catching; return to the correct NPC after the bar completes.
